The Thermal and Energy Systems Engineering Group carries out theoretical and experimental research and industrial application projects in the field of thermal and energy installations, especially in the production of cold and air conditioning with refrigerants with low environmental impact, and in energy revaluation from residual heat and from natural sources of low temperature.
The main lines of research are, therefore: (i) Vapor compression systems (refrigeration and heat pump), (ii) Energy revaluation of residual and natural heat, (iii) Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC), (iv ) Reversible High Temperature Heat Pumps (BCAT), (v) New low GWP fluorinated working fluids.
