The GFM group is working on several lines of research related with the behaviour of fluids, and especial those involving more than one phase. The main lines of research are: (i) experimentation and development of instruments for characterising multiphase flows; (ii) study of the drying of droplets using ultrasonic levitation techniques, which allows individual droplets to be analysed with a very high degree of detail and precision; (iii) characterisation of fluid atomisation and the study of spray drying in the ceramic industry; and (iv) simulation of complex scenarios involving both single-phase and multiphase fluids by means of Fluid Mechanics Codes (CFD).
