Unit 3.5 Creature Construction

In this session you will not use scratch. You will need a pen/pencil and a piece of paper.

Programmers share computer code to complete programs. Programmers use other programmers code in their programs.

In this exercise we will see the creativity of combining ideas! Please complete the following:

Students will draw a “creature” in three parts.

1.Each student will use a sheet of blank paper.

2.Fold your paper in to 3 sections.

3.Take one minute to draw a “head” for a creature on the top piece of paper

4.Next, fold the paper over so that the head is hidden.

5. With the head hidden, pass the creature to another student.

6.You have one minute to draw a “middle” for the new creature (DO NOT LOOK AT THE HEAD OF THE NEW PICTURE YOU HAVE).

7.Fold the paper so that the head and body are hidden and pass it to another student.

8.You have one minute to draw a “bottom” for the creature.

9.Unfold the papers to reveal your collaboratively constructed creatures!

10. Show the drawing to everyone in class and discuss co-authorship, collaboration, and reusing and remixing work.
