Adult Neurology Residency Program
Program Overview:
The Adult Neurology Residency Program trains Physicians to become independent Neurological Consultants, expert in the prevention, diagnosis and management of patients with diseases of the nervous system.
Residents completing training in the program will meet the requirements of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for certification as specialists in Neurology. The program is structured to meet the program requirements outlined in the current Specialty Training Requirements in Neurology, the Objectives of Training in Neurology, and the Specific Standards of Accreditation for Residency Programs in Neurology of the RSPSC currently in effect.
Residents completing training in this program will be equipped to work in a variety of environments depending on the career objectives of the resident, including community-based and academic practice.

General Information:
The ratio of residents to faculty is approximately 1:2
Junior residents carry 5-10 patients on inpatient neurology services
We provide residents with access to electronic medical resources
There are opportunities for inter-provincial and international electives during the program
There are no mandatory rural rotations, but electives are available
There is ample opportunity for research initiatives depending on resident interest
