Interview Selection Process
The selection process for our candidates is staged. An initial file assessment occurs with emphasis on leadership, communication skills, collegiality and commitment to the specialty. Following this initial file review selected candidates will be invited for an interview. **All Interviews will be conducted virtually for the 2025 cycle**
As a novel approach to residency interviews, our program is in the process of a trial of providing interview questions ahead of time. The purpose of this is to hopefully relieve stress of candidates and to allow candidates to formulate more thorough, deep reflections on the questions posed as opposed to quick "thinking on your feet". While all stems will be provided, follow up questions may still arise that were not provided ahead of time.
We aim for the interview to be more of a conversation than directed questions. Candidates will have ample opportunities in each panel to ask questions should they have any.
Similar CanMeds roles are assessed person to person on the interview date. Following this, ranking occurs via a global assessment.
