Observerships

Observership are once again open to applications!

Observerships are typically a 2-4 week formal opportunity for international applicants to work with our team in an inpatient or outpatient setting to better familiarize themselves with our program and the heath system in Edmonton, as well as a chance for us to get to know you. Observers are unable to perform any clinical duties which include documentation in patient charts, patient examinations, etc.

Observerships are strongly encouraged for all prospective international applicants to our program.  Observerships can be scheduled before a formal application to our program is sent through your home countries ministry.

In order to apply for an observership position, we require the following:

Other required documents include: Confidentiality agreement, immunization record and criminal background check.

Observerships take a minimum of 12 weeks to be processed. Should you wish to apply for an observership please keep this in mind when requesting observership dates.

Applications should be sent to Brenda DuVal (program admin) at medneuro@ualberta.ca

*Please note that not all applications will result in an observership or interview*
