The Studio school founded by the late Kim Simpson is now closed. These pages are left here as a legacy and reference.

This is just some of what the report said:

• The management and staff are highly driven and dedicated in delivering the highest standards of care and learning for the children.

• The children thrive at the nursery and make excellent progress from their starting points.

• The staff complete extensive assessments on the children and know each child extremely well. They provide an abundance of rich experiences, and they consistently adapt the activities to meet the individual learning needs of each child.

• The staff provide an extremely child-centred environment where the atmosphere is calm and nurturing. The children are eager to learn as they investigate, explore, and choose what they want to play with.

• The children's behaviour is exemplary. They treat their friends, and the staff, with kindness and consideration. For example, they work together to solve problems and readily give support to each other to succeed.

• The staff are extremely competent at promoting children's language skills. All children, including those who speak English as an additional language, make rapid progress in their speech and gain the skills needed for the next stage in their learning.

  • The partnerships with parents and outside professionals significantly enhance collaborative working. The parents are actively engaged in their children's learning. The staff support the children's physical needs in every conceivable way.
