- Uses clear, concise, vivid language (use stallion instead of horse)
- Appeals to the senses (how does it smell, feel, sound, taste, look?)
- Taps into emotions
- Leaves a clear impression
- Varies in sentence structure
Avoid:
- too many adjectives
- too many adverbs
- Cliches
