Class Ground Rules

I cover these ground rules on the first day of class.... actually, I let the student write them, and they have almost never failed me. They produce a list which is almost exactly as I expect it to be:

• Show up on time
• Don’t start packing your stuff until class time is over
• Don’t use technology for non-class stuff.
• Remain open-minded
• Check your ego at the door; our classroom is a place for safe exploration of ideas
• Be respectful when others express opinions that you don’t agree with
• Instructor hands up – time to regroup
