A detailed training schedule will be provided by the Coach via email to the team. This is meant to serve as a guide for coaches, and it can also be used if your child misses practice and wants to get the training for the day completed.
Practices are typically Monday through Thursday from 6:00 - 6:45 at Pacesetter Park. Juniors will practice until 7:00pm. We meet at the open air shelter at the back of the park, near the Mitchaw Rd entrance. You are not required to attend every practice. We offer multiple days to attract kids who also do other sports like football and soccer. New runners should try to attend at least 2-3x a week and one weekend run. Details of the schedule can be found on the Calendar.
For the first few weeks of practice, please have your child wear a shirt with their name on it to help the coaches learn everyone's name.
If Pacesetter Park is closed due to weather, we will still meet at the shelter but will run the paved perimeter path instead of around the fields. We do practice in the rain, but we DO NOT practice if there is lightning.
Saturday morning running clubs at Olander Park will continue at 9:00 am up until the season starts. These are important runs to attend as it gets the kids used to running in the morning which is when the races occur, or if you missed practices during the week.
