The Company is strongly committed to providing a safe workplace for employees. Employees are required to comply with all safety training, safety procedures, and other safety requirements.
Safety is an integral part of everything we do at Superior Industries. We have daily management systems that proactively identify hazards and unsafe conditions. These hazards then are corrected before any accident or injury can occur. In order to maintain this proactive culture we foster and promote the Safety Core Values.
Moment of Choice: The instant you are faced with a choice to correct an unsafe condition. It is our expectation that every employee take that moment to choose to remove the identified task. Employees who are concerned about performing work they believe is unsafe should not perform the work and must immediately report the matter to their supervisor or Human Resources.
Courage to Actively Care: Speaking up when there are risks to the safety of yourself or someone else. It is our expectation that our employees are courageous in voicing their concerns for the wellbeing of themselves and each other.
Accountability: The requirement of each individual to do what is expected of them. To achieve that Superior provides: protective equipment, training, and many additional tools to assist in eliminating safety risks. It is your responsibility to do your part and follow these instructions.
Reporting:In case of sickness or injury, no matter how slight, you must immediately report the condition at once to your Supervisor. Any employee seeking medical attention for a work related injury or illness must immediately notify Safety Manager or Supervisor. This notification should be made prior to making an appointment or shortly thereafter.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): A complete list of PPE required at a specific facility is given to each employee at Orientation and upon request. Utilization of the designated PPE is mandatory.
Safety glasses are required to be worn by anyone in the production and storage yard areas. The Company will furnish safety glasses to all employees and visitors. If prescription glasses are worn, they must have hardened lenses and non-removable side shields. The Company will reimburse up to a designated annual amount for employees who wear prescription lenses.
Safety Shoes are required to be worn upon by anyone working in the production and storage yard areas. The shoes must have a protective toe that is ANSI/ASTM 175 & C75 approved. The Company will reimburse up to a designated annual amount for employees required to wear safety shoes.
Machine Operation: Machines must be shut down before: adjustment, cleaning or repair. Lock out and tag out the machine according to the Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedure. Safety devices are for your protection. Never operate your machine unless all guards and limit switches provided are in place and working any unsafe conditions must be reported to your Supervisor.
Horseplay: Horseplay will not be tolerated.
Trained Operators: Never operate a: tool, production machine, crane, forklift, or any piece of equipment without unless you are trained and authorized by a Supervisor.
Violation of safety policies or procedures may result in the workplace, you are encouraged to promptly discuss it with your supervisor or Human Resources.
