Eligibility and Amount
An employee will accrue one hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked, up to 40 hours in a defined year. A year is defined as a calendar year.
Rate of Accrual
1 hour of earned paid leave for every 40 hours worked will begin at the start of employment
Eligibility
Able to use 120 days after the first day worked for a new employee.
Full-time, Part-time, and Temporary workers are eligible.
Unused Sick Leave
Employees can carryover up to 40 hours from one year to the next. Unused accrued sick time will not be paid out at the end of employment
Terms of Use
Earned Paid Leave may be used for the following purposes: (1) emergency illness, sudden necessity, planned vacation, etc.
When an employee is absent for an event covered under Earned Paid Leave, Earned Paid Leave must be used. When an employees’ Earned Paid Leave has been exhausted, the PLT policy will apply.
Advance notice is required when the use of Earned Paid Leave is foreseeable. If the need is unforeseeable, the employee must communicate prior to the start of shift and/or as soon as practicable.
