It is the intent of Superior Industries to clarify the definitions of employment classifications so those employees understand their employment status and benefit eligibility. For purposes of salary and wage administration, eligibility for overtime, and benefits administration, employees are classified as follows:
Full Time Regular: Employees hired to work a normal, full-time, forty or more hour workweek on a regular basis. Such employees may be "exempt salaried", or "non-exempt salaried", or "hourly" as defined below. Employees are eligible for Company benefit programs. Other eligibility requirements are explained in the benefits section of this handbook.
Part Time Regular: Employees who are scheduled to work fewer than forty hours per week on a regular basis. Such employees may be "non-exempt salaried" or "hourly" as defined below. Other eligibility requirements are explained in the benefits section of this handbook.
Temporary Employees: Employees engaged to work full time or part time with the understanding their employment is for an indefinite but short period of time depending on the assignment. Temporary employees are not eligible for Company benefits.
Leased Employees: Employees of a leasing organization who receive assignments to work at Superior Industries. Leased or contract employees are not eligible to participate in Company benefit programs.
Exempt Employees: Employees who are paid on a salaried basis to perform primarily exempt duties as executives, administrative, or professional duties and outside sales representatives. These employees are not entitled to overtime pay.
Non Exempt Salaried Employees: Employees on salaried payroll but are entitled to overtime at the rate of time-and one-half their regular rate for all time worked in excess of forty hours in the workweek.
Hourly Employees: Employees on hourly payroll who are required to be paid overtime at the rate of time-and-one-half their regular rate for all time worked in excess of forty hours in the workweek.

An employee’s exempt or non-exempt classification may be changed only upon written notification by Superior Industries management. If you change positions during your employment, as a result of a: promotion, transfer, or otherwise you will be informed of any change in your employment classification.
