1. E-Mail
a) All e-mail usage is to be business-related.
b) All e-mails sent, received and stored in Superior Industries email system are the property of Superior Industries.
c) All e-mail messages are logged and their contents can be screened at any time.
2. World Wide Web
a) The World Wide Web is made available to employees of Superior Industries on a user level basis according to need.
b) This is available for business use only.
c) Web site traffic will be monitored and logged per user, time, and web site name.
3. Software
a) All software installation is to be conducted by or supervised by the Computer Systems department. This includes all trial, demos, and other executables that are downloaded from the internet.
b) Computer games are not to be installed on computers and are subject to removal.
c) Any pre-installed games (i.e. Windows Solitaire) or non-standard Windows Screen Savers are not supported by the Computer Systems department.
4. Intellectual Property
a) All data that is generated, derived, or stored on any Superior Industries computer is the property of Superior Industries. Any unauthorized attempt to use this data covertly for personal gain may cause termination of employment.
b) Data security is important to Superior Industries and its divisions. Repeated attempts to gain unauthorized access or destroy data may result in a reprimand or termination.
All other office machinery is the exclusive property of the company and is to be used solely for business purposes. Using them for any other purpose is against company policy, and all transmissions on any such medium of communication owned by the company may be subject to monitoring at any time by company personnel.
Employees should have no expectation of privacy regarding their use of the Company's computers, software, emails, text messages, instant messages, voicemails, and internet websites. The company will monitor and inspect, as it deems appropriate, the Company's computers, software, emails, text messages, instant messages, voicemails, and internet websites. The Company's monitoring and inspection may occur at any time, with or without prior notice to the employee, for any business reason the Company deems appropriate, in its sole discretion and in accordance with applicable law.
A complete copy of the Computer use Policy is reviewed during New Employee Orientation and upon request.
