SHF La Société Honoraire de Français
La Societe Honoraire de Francais is the Stillwater High School chapter of a national French Honor Society sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. It is not an official club at Stillwater High School. Membership is by nomination based on grades in French, overall GPA, and demonstrated interest in French and francophone cultures and for students who have taken French III. Dues ($3.50) are for membership in the national organization and certificates. Our purpose is to explore and celebrate aspects of French culture outside of the classroom, and to speak French!. Activities are usually on weekends or evenings as well as during the lunch hour.
L'Annee 2018-2019
Our chapter coordinated with French Club to organize meetings and review for the AP test. New members were Alex Burkman, Edie Will, Christina Burk, Elshaddai Ali, Jason Bryant, Garrett Queen, and Jesse Wallace.
L'Annee 2017-2018
Our chapter took leadership in welcoming the French Exchange Students from Amiens who will be visiting our school October 28-November 11.
New members were Allie Brown, Anna Long, Lela Merkel and Morgan Poe.
L'annee 2016-2017.
New Members in April 2017: Laura Apblett, Mariajose Camara, Cassidy DeGroot, Kimberly Mathis and Kaustuvi Thapa, Anna Noden and Sam Harris.
SHF members are required to join French Club and are encouraged to seek office in French Club. You are also expected help with French student tutoring. In these ways French 4 and French 5 students will stay connected to French culture and have opportunities to speak French during the Fall terms. Venez me voir!!
