Canvas is Stanford's primary Learning Management System (LMS), used by students, faculty and learning specialists. It is used by OB374 Reading Coaches to read and comment on students’ journal assignments.

Canvas Orientation Course

Log in at https://canvas.stanford.edu/ with your SUNet ID (and two step) with an up-to-date browser (Chrome or Firefox is recommended).

Things to Remember on Canvas
Reference reading coach guidelines from the instructor around comments, grading, and process. Grading sections will be created shortly after the term begins.
In SpeedGrader, save your work often by hitting "enter" or by clicking or tabbing outside of a dialogue box. Submit right-hand comments. Don't leave work in an unsaved tab. Entries time out after ten hours.
It's never a good idea to click the eye with a slash icon to post grades. Posting grades will send all grades and comments to students immediately. Your faculty will post grades.
Add a secondary email to ensure you receive Canvas notifications.
Instructions for changing your default email address:Log in to Canvas
Click on your Account icon, at the top of the menu red bar on the left
Click on settings
Go to Email (right side of your screen)
Add another email address.
Reply to your confirmation email to complete your email set-up.
Be sure you are using the most current version of your browser. Use Update My Browser (https://updatemybrowser.org) to check that you are using the most current version.
