Dear Stanford GSB Facilitators,
We are writing to invite you to bid for OB 374 T-group facilitation for the 2026-27 academic year. This email describes our process and timeline.
Submit Your Bids through Our Online Link—Deadline: Thursday, April 16 at noon
Please use THIS LINK to submit your preferences. While we welcome your questions by email, please do not send your bids by email.
Staffing Decisions
The survey asks how many quarters you would like to facilitate and your preference for quarters. Opt into as many sections as you’re willing to serve in for any given quarter. Once bidding closes on April 16, Chris McCanna and the OB 374 faculty will look at the pairing options and clinic composition to create optimally balanced and diverse teams. Final staffing decisions will be made collaboratively by faculty.
Section Information
Details about all twelve sections are attached and are included in the survey. Changes in scheduling for these sections are unlikely, but possible. If there are any scheduling changes, those who bid for these sections will be notified and given a chance to revise their bids.
What it Means to Commit
Please review your calendar carefully before you bid to be sure you can make the commitments required. We project having the tentative staffing assignment roster ready by late-May, at which point you will have about a week to confirm or decline the proposed schedule. An invitation to bid for reading will be sent out (target date: May 26). We expect to finalize the facilitation and reading roster by Monday, July 6, once reading confirmations are received. When you commit (see timetable below), we expect you to take that commitment seriously. That said, we recognize that unexpected events occur in everyone’s life and that sometimes you may need to withdraw from a commitment due to unforeseeable events in your life.
Consider Going “Standby” if You Can’t Commit Now
If your schedule is too uncertain to make a commitment now, consider joining the standby list. If you are currently looking for a full-time job, please bid standby. If a spot opens up after staffing assignments have been finalized, individuals on the standby list may be given an opportunity to step in.
If You Are Returning to Facilitation After a Long Absence
The OB 374 program has evolved over the years. While we are delighted to welcome people back to the program, we have found that facilitators who return after a long absence sometimes encounter challenges in “jumping back on the train”. If it has been more than 5 years since you last facilitated at Stanford, please note this in the comment box at the end of the bidding survey. Paula Jones will contact you to talk about your T-group experience and ways to help you make a smooth transition back into the program.
Reader Bidding
Reading Coaches are a crucial part of our OB 374 program. As we have been doing in recent years, we will wait until facilitation assignments have been finalized before soliciting bids for journal reading. This bidding will be done by online survey as well.
