Progress Reports

Mid-Quarter Progress Reports are an important step toward academic success. Receiving early feedback from your instructors will allow you some time to improve your grade if necessary, get tutoring as needed, and most importantly, build more meaningful relationships with your instructors. The Progress Reports also help TRIO know how we can best support you.

Here are the steps for this Mid-Quarter Progress Report:

1. Request a time to meet with your instructors during Office Hours by emailing or sending a message in Canvas.

Make appointments with your instructors as soon as you can, so they can submit your Progress Report by May 13th. Once they submit, their comments and grade estimate will be visible on your Starfish dashboard.

2. When you meet with faculty, ask for feedback on your progress to date, making sure to take notes. Below are key issues to address (but feel free to adjust the conversation to your specific concerns):

  • Current Grade (if they had to give you a grade this week, what would it be?)

  • Attendance (if applicable)

  • Participation in Class

  • Test Scores

  • Completion of Assignments

  • Competency with Class Materials

3. At the end of the meeting, ask your instructor to complete the TRiO Mid-Quarter Progress Report in Starfish and thank them for their time.

If you have any questions or concerns about meeting with your instructor or completing this task, please let TRIO advisors know as soon as you can. We are happy to provide alternate options, guidance, and support.

Progress Report due date: 11/4/22
