Welcome to Mr. Trimble's 8th Grade World History class. Welcome to Mr. Trimble's 8th Grade World History class. While I'm disappointed that we're starting the year virtually instead of in-person, I have many fun and interesting things planned for you this year. We'll be covering history from a time before writing existed all the way to the Middle Ages.
Along the way we'll learn about the brilliant civilizations of Ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India, Greece and Rome. Then we'll travel to Medieval Africa, Asia and Europe. We cover the world! You will find all of my Weekly Modules and Assignments on my Canvas Modules Page. If you ever have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. You can send questions through Canvas or reach me at dtrimble@somsd.k12.nj.us.
Please bookmark this site. It's a must see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Below are some of the activities we will be doing during the school year once ww return (fingers crossed!)

Artifact Digs
Before each civilization we will study this year, we will be doing an archeological dig. The dig involves: plastic bins, sand, rocks and laminated artifacts. Students then use their "tools" to dig out the artifacts, record them on a google doc, then discuss their "finds" with their teammates.
Here's what it looks like...
