The story of Sergey Magnistky who died in pre-trial detention and now on trial posthumously...

Speaker: Bill Browder from Hermitage Fund and showing of the documentary "Justice for Sergey"

Showing of the documentary ‘Justice for Sergey’ with comments and answers from Bill Browder. Sergey Magnitsy was a lawyer for the English Hermitage Fund. He uncovered $230 m of state money involved in the tax refund fraud perpetrated using forged Hermitage documents. After Sergei Magnitsky was beaten to death in a Moscow jail for uncovering fraud by Russian authorities, investor Bill Browder devoted himself to publicising the case. As a result, the US has passed a dramatic human rights law - the so-called “Magnitsky Law” that provoked in return an angry reaction of the Russian authorities that rushed through Duma (Parliament) a law banning adoption of orphans by the US citizens. The story goes on and Sergey Magnistsky was recently put on trial posthumously and Bill Browder himself is on trial. Flyer
