¡Welcome to Spanish class!

We are looking forward to a rewarding and fun year. Our goals for our students are to communicate in a language other than English and to gain an awareness and understanding of other cultures.  

Students in grades 4th – 5th.

Content topics

Vocabulary in situational conversations: Greetings and names, polite expressions, Traditional prayers,

Classroom word and expressions,

The Spanish alphabet, numbers, colors,

Days of the week, Months and seasons,

Parts of the body and clothing, foods and the restaurant, home, family and friends, holidays and celebrations, music and dance. We especially celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe, Cinco de Mayo, and Lord of the Miracles (Perú).

Each year we will reinforce and expand on the vocabulary and grammar lessons of previous years. The students receive a grade on the report cards.

For the second semester to students in 5th grade, the school will provide them with the book "Viva el español" ¿Qué tal? and thus deepen grammar, preparing students for the middle school.

We look over the material in the student`s books and encourage her/his practice of Spanish outside the classroom.
