2016-17 Teacher of the Year

Being selected as a Teacher of the Year is a tremendous honor. I am very proud of all our teachers and especially proud for those who have been honored by their peers to represent them as their Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to Mrs. Hodges for her selection as the Middle/High Teacher of the Year. We want to give special congratulations to Mrs. Rendy Godwin for being selected as the Elementary School Teacher of the Year and Seminole County School System Teacher of the Year. Great job Mrs. Godwin!

SCES Teacher of the Year: Rendy GodwinMrs. Godwin is a graduate of Seminole County High School. She has a B.S. degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia. She has a M.S. degree and an Ed. S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Troy Dothan. She also has Media Specialist Certification from Valdosta State. She has been an educator at Seminole County Schools for 23 years. She has taught 4th, 5th and 7th grades. The past 7 years she has been the Media Specialist for SCES. Mrs. Godwin is also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpha Omicron Chapter.

Mrs. Godwin is the daughter of Patricia Thursby and the late Bill Thursby. She is married to Kevin Godwin, a Coach and Physical Education teacher at the Seminole County Middle/High. They have one daughter, Ava, who is 12 and in the 7th grade. They attend Donalsonville First Presbyterian Church.

Principal Pierce adds, “It is a great pleasure to work with Mrs. Godwin every day. She has a way of making learning fun in the media center. Mrs. Godwin is very deserving of this accomplishment.”

SCMHS Teacher of the Year: Jennifer HodgesMrs.Hodges is dedicated to reaching her full potential through education. She is actively involved in school projects, clubs, and organizations, is extremely dependable and will go the extra mile in fulfilling her responsibilities.
