Google Classroom:
Google Classroom is a free web service for creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.
Features of Google Classroom:
1. Easy to set-up for teachers and sign-in for students.
2. Once students are signed into a class they can easily access all of their Google Classrooms from all of their teachers.
3. Easy to add assignments and materials for students to access.
4. Auto-grading with Google Quizzes.
5. Integrates with many other educational applications, like Peardeck, Edpuzzle, and Quizlet.
How to get started with Google Classroom:
2. Have students sign-in to your Classroom. Once they do this, they will see your classroom on their homepage until you delete the Classroom. Google Classroom is very convenient for students getting online resources from many different teachers.
3. Post assignments, quizzes, questions, and materials to classrooms.

*Be cautious in implementing new technology with your students. I find it difficult to introduce new educational technologies normally, even when I can get face-to-face feedback from students. Introducing new educational technologies all online could be very frustrating for you and your students.
Technologies to use with Google Classroom :
Here are some of the resources I find valuable and easily integrate with Google Classroom. Many of these apps will require students to sync with their se-tigers account which will allow you to auto-grade their work.
Google Drive:
Google Quizzes, Forms, Documents, Slides, Sheets, and Drawings can easily be shared with Google Classroom. These files can be shared with students to view, edit, or make a copy for each student.

I create some informational google slides and then use the Pear Deck add-on to add questions.
Here is a Doc for getting started.

When I start a Pear Deck session, I share to Google Classroom, and students can practice questions.
Viewing a PearDeck like a student.
Embedding simulations from other websites into a PearDeck.

These two apps I think Google is merging into one app, Google Meet. You can have a class video chat, share your screen, and record your session. Here are the directions.
Google Voice: https://voice.google.com/
This app allows you to send text messages, call, and receive phone messages through your computer. I like it because it documents all of my parent communication. Also, then I don't have to use my cell phone to interface with parents. I have been using as my office phone, but I mainly use the texting feature.

Flipgrid: https://info.flipgrid.com/
Flipgrid is a website that allows teachers to create “grids” of short discussion-style questions that students respond to through recorded videos. Each grid is effectively a message board where teachers can pose a question and their students can post 90-second video responses that appear in a tiled “grid” display. Easily share links to Flipgrids and add them to assignments in Google Classroom.
