New York Library Association is launching the first annual Empire State Book Festival and Gala on April 9-10th at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. The two day event starts off with the Gala – NYS Writers Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, April 9th at 6 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Albany. The NYS Writers Hall of Fame will showcase the rich literary heritage of NYS by inducting two current authors – Mary Gordon and Robert Caro and 10 past authors into the Hall of Fame. Tickets are $75 and are tax-deductible. Proceeds will be used to support the Writers Hall of Fame/Book Festival.
The Empire State Book Festival starts at 10 am on Saturday, April 10th with our Keynote Author – Gregory Maguire of Wicked fame. The Festival includes panel discussions, author talks, story-telling, etc. from 120 writers, poets, journalists, illustrators, etc. The event is free and open to the public.
