8th Grade Expectations

Please refer to the student handbook for expectations on the following topics:

Chromebook Use: StudentS are expected to make sure they are put away and plugged in for charging each day before leaving school.

  • Under no circumstances are students allowed to use another student's chromebook.

  • WIRED earbuds or headphones are a must (wireless/ Bluetooth earbuds are NOT allowed).


Behavior Reminders:

  • Gum is not permitted in school.

  • You should not be touching your classmates for any reason; keep your hands to yourself.

  • Noise level in the hallway is disruptive to instruction; students who are noisy in the halls will face disciplinary action.

  • Passes are required whenever you are in the hall and you must ask permission to leave the room. You must also sign out legibly and fully when leaving and returning.

  • Snacks from the cafeteria must be purchased prior to 8am. There is no exception to this rule, so please plan accordingly.

  • Water is the only beverage students are allowed to have in the classroom.


Be Prepared: Students must arrive prepared for class, which includes having all necessary books, assignments, charged Chromebook, and any printed documents ready to hand in. If you need to print an assignment at school, you must plan in advance and take care of this prior to 8am; you will NOT be given time in class to print. Should you experience technical difficulties, it is your responsibility to notify your teachers by 8am.

Disciplinary Action: Any teacher intervention necessary to correct the above mentioned behaviors will result in a minimum of a logging in PowerSchool. Three logs in a trimester will result in an after-school detention.


Detention: Parents will be given 24-hour notice prior to the time the detention is to be served. Students should report on time and will be subject to further disciplinary action if they fail to keep their detention. Parents are expected to provide or arrange transportation from school to home.


Late work: No homework/classwork will be accepted more than one week after its due date, unless specified in an education plan. Homework/classwork that’s late will receive credit up to an 85. Major assignments will be accepted no more than two weeks after its due date.


Re-submitting Work: Students will receive a resubmit form by their teacher with specific details regarding criteria and new due date. This form must be signed by the teacher, student, and parent for process to start.
