Objective: You are creating a Resort Brochure. You need 3 pages inside and 1 cover. It's a tri-fold brochure.
1. Name your resort and come up with the logo:

PUT YOUR NAME ON THE BACK OF THE PRINTED PHOTO AND HAND IT IN TO MRS. MICHTA BY THE END OF CLASS ON DECEMBER 23RD.

Times Square Advertisements!
Photoshop
Use Google Chrome - Images - Search Tools - LARGE
Find a photo of Times Square with a lot of ads.
Open this photo in Photoshop.
To create an advertisement:
1. File -> New
2.
Choose the DEFAULT WORKSPACE
3. Use GOOGLE CHROME to search for images to use in your advertisement.
CLICK VIEW IMAGE!!
RIGHT CLICK OR CONTROL + CLICK THEN SAVE IMAGE AS...
SAVE IT IN YOUR SHARE DRIVE!!!
7. Right Click (or control + click) on the layer with the photo and select RASTERIZE!!
6. Does your image have a background that you need to get rid of?
4. File -> Place (to place an image on the advertisment)
Use PenTool to cut out the background!
SELECT -> INVERSE
EDIT -> CUT
If the image you find has a WHITE background you can use the MAGIC WAND, CLICK ON THE WHITE BACKGROUND, the EDIT-> CUT!

* EDIT -> FREE TRANSFORM allows you to size and rotate
You can use the Paint Brush tool to make your own artwork unique. You may choose images from the internet.

Select any brush you wish and experiment with different effects.
When your advertisement is completed, you must save it. Then return to your original times square photo. FILE ->PLACE (Find the file name for the advertisement you just made)
*adjust the advertisement to fit in the space you want it to go.*

ABSTRACT NAME DESIGN

REDESIGN A LOGO
HOW TO PRINT -
Due: October 9th
Please follow these directions before printing your logo re-design.
1. Select the rectangular tool and click 1 time.
2. Make sure you type in these options... and click OK.
3. Then make sure your rectangle has these options selected:
4. Position the rectangle on your page like this: (Make sure you have it even around each side, except for the bottom.. leave extra room)
5. Now add your text. Select the Text tool and type your first and last name hit ENTER then type in the Company's name. Highlight your name is make it bold. The options for your Name Text should look like this:
You must have this font and that size font. The only part that is Bold is your name.
6. Make sure your logo is in the center and it is as large as you can make it while keeping a nice distance around it. You don't want the logo to overlap the border. To make the whole logo larger, draw a box around it using the mouse. Then hold down the SHIFT key while dragging out the lower right hand corner. Make sure you have the Move Tool or Black Arrow selected.

Assignment for Thursday, October 1st
Please choose one of the following famous graphic designers to research and write a 200-word paragraph. Make sure to put information found into your own words, this way you won’t plagiarize. Please include your opinion of the artists’ work.
This will count as 1 project grade.
Make sure your name on your work and print at the end of the period.

REDESIGN A LOGO
Studio/Illustrator -
Your task:
You work on a creative team for a huge company. The CEO has just ask you and your team to redesign their logo.
1. Choose any logo. It can be a logo for food, clothing, sports team, music, etc.
2. Get sketch paper and sketch out new ideas for the logo.
*keep in mind* What does the company sell? Who does the company primarily sell to? Were there ever any other designs for the logo? How did they change it? Did they ever change their color or colors? Should you change the font, or is it iconic? You must decide how much to change the logo while staying true to what the company represents or what it wants to communicate.
3. Get it approved.
4. Use Photo Booth to snap a photo of your sketch.
5. Drag it into Illustrator.
6. go to OBJECT, TRANSFORM, REFLECT, VERTICAL.
7. Make sure you click once on it with the MOVE TOOL and then go to OBJECT, LOCK, SELECTION.
8. Select the Pen Tool and begin to trace over your sketch.
