LINOLEUM PRINTS!

What is Linoleum?

Students will use a reference picture of any animal of their choice. They will draw a picture of this animal and transfer their image onto a piece of linoleum. Then using gouges they will carve into their linoleum leaving what looks like a "stamp".
covered in ink, students will lay their inked up tile onto a piece of printing paper. Using various tools, students will press the tile onto the paper. Then peel the tile away and they are left with a beautiful print

Pastel Flowers
Students will draw and shade in at least 5 flowers. They must overlap. Students will learn pastel blending techniques to create a 3D effect. Students can use any colors they wish!

Students will be able to choose between butterflies, birds, tree frogs or other small creature upon approval. Students will learn and develop new watercolor techniques and pen and ink techniques. We will continue to learn about value: shadows, mid-tones, and highlights.

Name Design
Students will learn how to draw in block letters and enhance their overall drawing skills.
This will be completed using pencils, rulers, extra-fine tipped sharpies and colored pencils.
Table Folders - Label folders and on the other side divide into sections. Each student gets a section to draw at least 5 things that they like to do, describes them, interests, etc. For example, if someone likes soccer they can draw a soccer ball, jersey, goal, etc.
