College Days, Job Seeking Interviews, Scholarship Interviews & Job Shadowing
Students will not be considered absent for being out of school as long as they follow the school’s procedure as long as they don’t exceed the number of days listed.
COLLEGE DAYS – forms are available on the school website and in the guidance office. The top portion of this form is due in the school office no later than one (1) full day PRIOR to the day of the college visit. Scheduled college visitation days (not to exceed two school days) are allowed for juniors and seniors. Students will need prior approval from the principal if they need to exceed the 2 day limit. Once the principal approves the additional college visitation day, this will be considered absent and excused on the student’s absence record. Students must still use the college visitation form and have the paperwork signed to confirm their visit. After the college visit, the bottom portion of the form which was completed at the college is due in the school office upon returning to Russia School. Students will need prior approval from the principal if they want to use a college visitation day the 4th nine weeks their senior year.
JOB SEEKING INTERVIEWS AND SCHOLARSHIP INTERVIEWS - only seniors are allowed to go on scheduled job seeking interviews & scholarship interviews, not to exceed two school days for each. Forms are available on the school website and in the guidance office. This form is due in the school office no later than one (1) full day PRIOR to the day of the interview. After the interview, the bottom portion of the form which was completed by the interviewer is due in the school office upon returning to Russia School.
JOB SHADOWING - Juniors and seniors are allowed job shadowing days, not to exceed two school days. This form is due in the school office no later than one (1) full day PRIOR to the day of the job shadow. After the job shadow, the bottom portion of the form which was completed by the person you job shadowed is due in the school office upon returning to Russia School.
Any of these visitations not scheduled one day prior to the visit and/or proper documentation not being returned to school office after the visit may result in those absences being considered unexcused.
