School Counseling Program

Classroom Lessons

As the school counselors, we meet with all students weekly in the classroom setting.  During these lessons, students learn and practice skills such as conflict resolution, making and keeping friends, bullying prevention, empathy, impulse control, respect, expressing feelings in healthy ways, and making safe choices.  We use the Second Step Curriculum during many of our lessons.  For more information about this curriculum, click here.

Small Groups

Small group counseling opportunities are available for students who may need extra support in making and keeping friends, using strategies to 'stop and think' about their choices, managing feelings appropriately, developing positive self-esteem, and changing families. Students do not participate in small group counseling without parental permission.

Individual Counseling

We are also available on a short-term basis to meet with students individually to support them in further developing skills such as managing feelings, conflict resolution, or making safe choices.   If there are times during the school year that your child is struggling, whether socially, emotionally, or behaviorally, please do not hesitate to contact us so I can help support you and your child’s teacher to help your child have a positive school experience.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at either school.
