Philosophical Tenets of Writing
Writing is thinking on paper.
Good writing is a process during which writers refine their thinking as they articulate ideas for an audience. It is not a one and done 'answer'.
Good writers PRACTICE their craft.
Argumentation is a civic skill. It is an act of discourse that requires consideration of others' views.
Understanding who your audience is and making your purpose clear is a life skill.
Writing requires CURIOSITY, PERSEVERANCE, and EXPERIMENTATION.
Discovering you need to delete does not mean you've wasted your time.
Revision is actually Re-Visioning or seeing your paper as your audience will.
