English 3

English 3 is a junior level English class organized around the skills of critical reading and writing to communicate.  Through the study of fiction, nonfiction, and media, students will learn to read closely and analyze rhetorically.  They implement these strategies in their writing both for class assignments and in real world settings.  The curriculum is built around the Maine state standards and students work to demonstrate proficiency in these skills.  I firmly believe that reading and writing are life skills, and because of this, we analyze not only traditional literature but also the multi-media texts and persuasive arguments that saturate students' lives.  My goal is to create life long literacy.
