NASA Opportunity for High School Juniors - Applications Open

Post date: Nov 03, 2014 12:8:56 PM

High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) 2014-2015 needs Texas high school juniors. Please visit our web site at: http://has.aerospacescholars.org/

HAS is a NASA unique opportunity for students who are interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Selected students will begin their journey with the HAS Online Experience that will start in November and conclude in April. During this time, students will create technical writings and drawings, solve math problems, participate in discussion forums and chat sessions with NASA engineers and scientists. Texas teachers serve as our HAS reviewers who grade the students’ work. In April, students who successfully complete the HAS Online Experience will be qualified to be selected to attend the HAS Onsite Experience hosted by Johnson Space Center (JSC). Selected students will spend six days learning first hand from NASA engineers and scientists who not only speak to the group, but also serve as mentors for the teams. This program is sponsored by NASA and funded by the State of Texas, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and Rotary NASA, at no cost to participants.

For more information and updated timelines, please visit the HAS website at: http://has.aerospacescholars.org/. You can also learn more about the program by viewing “High School Aerospace Scholars: A Journey of Discovery” video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?vV3HeXYi9Z5Q.
