Advanced Placement Exams are available for all McNeil High School students. These exams are offered through College Board and are administered by McNeil High School. AP Exams provide students to demonstrate college level knowledge and receive college credit based on their score.
**Note, there are required College Board fees or AP Exams. If you qualify for financial assistance, or would like to learn more about financial assistance, please see the Financial Assistance page HERE .
Students enrolled in an AP course are able to register for the AP Exam. Students will receive registration information and a Join Code from their teacher at the beginning of the school year.
Students who are not enrolled in an AP course, but would like to self-study and take an AP exam may also register. Please contact the testing office at McNeil_Testing@roundrockisd.org for information on Exam Only registration and Join Codes.
Students who are NOT enrolled at McNeil High School who would like to take an AP Exam through McNeil should follow the steps on THIS Slide Deck.
Deadline to register without late fees is September 28, 2025.
To cancel an AP Exam:
Log back into Total Registration and request your exam to be cancelled (click here)
Your request to cancel exams will be denied after April 1

Full Year, Fall Course and Exam Only Important Dates:
August 13 - August 31: Regular Registration and Whole/Partial Payment to secure exam
Whole Payment: $106 per exam
Partial Payment: $44 must be paid by September 28 (remaining balance must be paid by January 31st, 2025 or the exam may be canceled)
September 29 - November 1: $10 late fee added per exam
November 2 - March 1: $50 late fee added per exam
Spring Semester Only Course Important Dates:
January 6 - January 17: Regular Registration and Whole/Partial Payment to secure exam
Whole Payment: $106 per exam
Partial Payment: $44 must be paid by January 17 (remaining balance must be paid by March 1, or the exam may be canceled)
January 18 - February 1: $10 late fee added per exam
February 2 - March 1: $50 late fee added per exam
Please note that you can complete your Total Registration account without paying on the same day.
Parents, please ensure your student adds your email address to their Total Registration account so that you receive emails regarding payment, deadlines, and exam information. If you are not receiving these emails, please email us and we can add your email address to the account.
Students that receive free/reduced lunch will receive a discounted price on AP exams. If you would like more information on the program, please contact RRISD Food Services for information and the application.
