Meet Mrs. Nelson  Instructional Coach/  AIG Teacher

I am excited to be starting my 26th year in education! I taught grades 2-5 in Guilford County my first 22 years. Three years ago I joined the Rockingham County School and Williamsburg families as a 5th grade teacher. I was blessed with the opportunity to take on the role of the Instructional Coach at Williamsburg in the 2023-24 school year.  My undergraduate degree is from the University of NC at Greensboro in Elementary Education and have my AIG certification.  

I live in Guilford County with my husband Shane, who is in packaging sales.  We have three children, Jacob who is 24, works full time as the HR Recruiting Supervisor for an in-home health care provider, Elle who is 20 and working full time in retail, and Hannah who is 18 and working while in school at GTCC. We have a dog named Spike and 3 cats, Luna, Honey, and Willow.

During my time outside of the school system, I enjoy spending time with my family, live music, reading, puzzles, and spending time in the mountains.
