COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Safety and basic use of woodworking equipment are emphasized. Included are selection and reading of patterns, selection of appropriate wood, tool safety and usage, construction and finishing techniques. Projects include the construction of picture frames, cutting boards, coffee tables, end tables or other wood items.

In order to pass this class, students will be expected to:

- Be in attendance. As a laboratory course, attendance is necessary to gain knowledge and skills needed for an appropriate understanding.

- Ask questions if having problems

- Work while in class

GRADING:

- You will be graded on participation each day (3 points)

CLASSROOM AND LAB RULES

1) 1) Respect others around you and the classroom equipment.

2) 2) Be on time and in class.

3) 3) Be prepared, and bring all classroom materials with you.

4) 4) No horseplay in the shop.
