Week 2 - December 2nd-6th

1. Monday - Demonstration Day - Introduction to Electric fields, Electrical circuits, and what causes electricity
2. Tuesday- Discuss different types of energy, and different ways to harness electricity
   1. Introduce the idea of conductors and insulators
   2. Introduce the major components of electricity
      1. Voltage - similar to the amount of water in a barrel - it is the driving force pushing electrons through a wire
      2. Current - Similar to a stream of water - it is a measure of the number of electrons flowing through a wire
      3. Resistance - similar to a hole in the side of a canister- how much push back on the flow of electrons
3. Wednesday - U.S. Navy Presentation
   1. Homework - reading on color codes
4. Thursday - Introduce Resistor color codes
5. Friday- Practice using resistor color codes

Week 3 - December 9th- 13th

1. Monday - Begin electrical resistance lab - You will have four resistors and you need to see what happens to resistors in parallel and series
2. Tuesday - Continue to work on the electrical resistance lab
   1. READING HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT
3. Wednesday- Measure voltage in a parallel and series circuit.
   1. Small quiz on reading resistor color codes and calculating resistors in series.
4. Thursday- Lab - Part 3- Phet simulation for electrical circuits
   1. Focus in on the current- What happens to the electrons as they move through the circuit
   2. Link to the simulation
5. Friday-Finish Simulation
   1. Homework - Worksheet 1 -- Due Monday

Week 4 - December 16th- 20th

1. Monday - Worksheet 1 - Calculating components of a circuit
