Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. - John 14:27 ESV

Remembering Pat Smartt

Dear Recovery Stakeholders:

With a heavy heart we are sharing with you that our dearly beloved friend Ms. Pat Smartt with the Robeson County Branch of the American Red Cross / Sandhills Chapter, passed away early Sunday morning on February 10, 2019 following an extended illness that began last fall.

As many of you know, Ms. Smartt played an integral role in helping to nurture and develop multi-dimensional disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives in Robeson County and throughout this region. Through her years of service in the community and proactive engagement at RCDRC's Long Term Recovery Group meetings she tangibly and tirelessly demonstrated her genuine love and care for the residents of Robeson County. Moreover the high standard of excellence, determination, class, and professionalism that she exemplified each day — lifted humanity — while also illustrating the caliber of character, integrity, discipline, focus, and stewardship that is achievable in our community. And although her tremendous footprint and legacy lives on, she is without question, irreplaceable.

Therefore, please join us as we continue to pray for her family, friends, co-workers, and our community. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. in the Wiseman Mortuary Chapel. God Bless you all, and rest well dear friend.
