Income Guidelines

* Preference will be given to first-generation students or children of Groups Alumni.

FAFSA

It is strongly preferred that the FAFSA is submitted by November 1, 2016.

  • New this year: students can file the FAFSA beginning October 1, 2016

  • Students and parents will use 2015 tax information to complete the FAFSA

  • College Goal Sunday dates (help for filing the FAFSA): Nov. 13th and Feb. 12th

Academic Guidelines

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.5

  • Core 40 Curriculum

    • Additionally:

      • 7 semesters of math (including 1 semester of Calculus, Pre- Calculus, or Trigonometry)

      • 4 semesters of world languages

      • 3 or more semesters of additional college prep courses

      • 3 academic courses (minimum) during 2nd semester of senior year

      • Mid-year graduation is not recommended

  • · Take the SAT or ACT by the following dates:

    • SAT—October 1, 2016

    • ACT—September 10, 2016

      • Scores must be submitted to IU directly from the testing agency (College Board, ACT) by Nov. 1st.

Resident and Citizenship Guidelines

  • Students (and at least one parent or legal guardian) must be a resident of the state of Indiana.

  • Students must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident (have a “Green Card”) by June 1st.

  • Students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) are not eligible for the Groups Scholars Program because they do not qualify for funding from the federal government.
