Students who are eligible to earn IU college credits (those with a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA) must create an IU IT account and enroll for their college credits. Students receive e-mails from IU with instructions. There are no fees for the IU college credits.
When students enroll to earn college credits, their course grade(s) will appear on their official IU transcript. It is important to consider how that may impact their college GPA which can also impact financial aid. Students have the opportunity to withdraw from earning college credit at a later time; students who withdraw will receive a W on their IU transcript which does not affect their college GPA, but students want to avoid having multiple W’s on their college transcript. Students may choose to withdraw in order to avoid having a low grade on their IU transcript. Withdrawing from IU college credits does not withdraw the student from the EHS course.
IU credits can be transferred to many other colleges, but it is not guaranteed. Each college determines its own rules regarding transferring in credits from other colleges. Students who wish to have their IU college credits transferred to a different college will need to have an official copy of their IU transcript sent to their college, and their college will determine if and how those credits will be applied.
