JANUARY 2024
It's a new year at WWA! We have started out strong and the creative juices are flowing. The first semester had us busy painting and sculpting, as well as attempting new techniques and materials. All of this learning results in fabulous artwork that will be on display at our annual Sights and Sounds of PV Schools Art Festival on March 2, 2024 at Shadow Mountain High School in the Jerry Connor Gym-500 Building, 10am-5pm. Please see the campus map and address below.
Art Festival judging will take place for all grades. If student does NOT want to participate in adjudication, please inform your art teacher by to February 26 , 2024
Here is an explanation of how the Visual Arts will be adjudicated from Mrs. Minnick:
All works on display at the show are eligible for district purchase unless identified with a NFS sticker on the I.D. tag.
Several works from each grade-level band - Elementary School, Middle School and High School - are chosen. These
works are then professionally framed and become the property of the Paradise Valley School District. Students and their
families will be notified on District Letterhead, and invited to present their work at an April Board meeting. For three
years the art is displayed in the Boardroom, until it rotates out to various places across the district office.
Below are the amounts awarded to the student for their art:
Elementary - $50
Middle - $75
High - $125
