You Tube requires users to be at least 13 years of age, which forces to think of different ways to upload student videos. Enter pvlearners Documents! One of the things that students can do is upload their videos to their own pvlearners accounts. This opens up all kinds of opportunities for us to help students learn to express themselves.
For a project, have your students create a video using the iSight camera on the iMacs or iPads. Once they have a good recording, they can export it to the desktop and go into pvlearners Drive, click on the little upload icon, then navigate to the file on the desktop. Voila! Students have ownership of their own work.
Echo 6th Graders will be working on a project for younger students called Voice Magic. Students will choose a picture book to read aloud to a young student, practice reading it many times, while learning about voice, articulation, projection, expression, etc. Once they have a fabulous take, they will go to tech lab and turn it into an iMovie, complete with music and images that introduce the book.
Once they finish, they will share their project (save to desktop) then upload it to their Drive account. I will give them permission to insert it into their page in Story Walk
