Agricultural Proficiency awards are based on a member’s Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). They recognize individual skills and career-based competencies developed through multiple years of participation in Immersion type SAE projects. To be eligible to compete for an agricultural proficiency award, SAEs must be agricultural in nature, fit into at least one nationally recognized agriculture, food and natural resource (AFNR) pathway and meet the description of the award area in which they apply. Proficiency Award area descriptions are not meant to define SAE, they are areas in which members exploring and/or becoming established in specific agricultural career pathways can receive recognition.
Not all SAEs will have a proficiency area available
Students can compete for awards in 49 National Recognized, 51 State Recognized, areas covering everything from Agricultural Communications to Wildlife Management. Most award area has two categories, placement and entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship:
Ownership of an agribusiness or agriculture-related enterprise. The member plans, implements, operates and assumes financial risks of ownership
Placement:
Non-ownership, agriculturally related paid of unpaid employment and/or volunteer work
Combined:
Award area for supervised agricultural experiences that are not split between entrepreneurship or placement. Applicants can combine both placement and entrepreneurship records if both are included in the SAE.
Agriscience Research:
Supervised agricultural experiences that involve planning and conducting an agriculturally based scientific experiment based on hypothesis and the use of the scientific methods of investigation on the hypothesis.

Grants are available from the National FFA Organization to help support FFA chapters, FFA Alumni chapters and students’ supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs).

Scholarships
The National FFA Organization offers several scholarships to members who plan to further their education after high school. Scholarships are sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation.
Scholarships are available to match a wide variety of skills, experiences, career goals and higher-education plans. Approximately $2 million in scholarship money is available each year.

Chapter FFA Officers
Chapter officers serve a vital function in FFA. By taking a major leadership role, these students grow from the experience and benefit the chapter. It should be the officers' goal to lead by example and encourage other members to participate in chapter activities.
The Process
The FFA Alumni will review your application for a 1/3 of the application process. An additional 1/3 will be from popular vote of the chapter at the March/April Chapter Meeting. The remaining 1/3 will be from an interview with Ms. Montgomery and Mr.Pettis that you must schedule before the April 12th, 2024. Be sure to also turn in a signed copy of the officer code of conduct (Shown below)

Becoming a State FFA Officer is a challenging process, yet a very rewarding opportunity. State officers serve the Wisconsin FFA members and advisors. They make a positive difference in the lives of many people.
Each year at the State FFA Convention, 11 students are elected by delegates to represent the organization as WI State FFA officers. Delegates elect one student from each of the ten sections with the president being elected from the previous years team.
