'Go For Gold' - Term 3, 2012

    1. What, When, Where, Why and How do we 'GO FOR GOLD'?

    1. "Nature or Nurture?" What factors make a great athlete? Is it all in the genes, is it hard work, dedication and opportunity or is it some mixture of all of these elements? Write an opinion piece that spells out clearly what you think about this contentious subject.

    1. Measurement, an important part of maths? Explain why and how you think it is important (or not important) to learn about the maths strand of measurement.

8. Making Choices: 'Smoking?'. Watch the video, read this article (and this one), write the argument! Your writing should be focused on the dangers of smoking and the likelihood of disease for smokers. Secondhand smoke and how it affects you.

You and your group (maximum of four people) will create a series of short multi-media texts that focus on one body system. To help you make a choice about which body system and to learn more about these systems follow these links: Karoro, Kea; Kahu, Roa; Whio.
