On the right you will learn about the Pacing Guide:
This helps students set small attainable goals.
Keeps students organized in knowing what they need to do
Provides individualized instruction (if they check in with the teacher)
Knows what is going to be taught for the unit.
Each pacing guide will be broken down in Lessons
At the end of each lesson is a non-graded quiz to check for understanding

What is a mathematical connection? - Watch the video as to why I want students to show their work, explain their thinking.
What my actual policy is that students should be completing their work they didn't finish in class. We use the planner every week to write down the tasks that that pacing guide has laid out as being "on pace".
If the student didn't complete those tasks in class, or just needs more time. This then becomes homework.
Students can also complete Should Do, and Aspire tasks at home for more practice, and new perspertives on how math works with the world.
All students should spend 60 minutes on homework, it should be broken out in the following way.
10 mins - looking for the assignment
10 mins - Checking what they are missing on their phone
5 mins - explaining why Mr. Meyers is mean and just does not like children
8 mins - getting a snack
10 mins - Checking what they missed on their phone
12 mins - waiting for mom or dad to do the assignment
5 mins - actually working on their math homework
