LOCAL AREA SCHOLARSHIPS

FEHR Graham Scholarship (January 1st, 2024)

Seniors pursuing two or four year degrees in Engineering or Environmental fields should apply.   

National FFA Scholarship Program (January 11th, 2024)

Students with an interest in furthering their education in agriculture should apply. There are various scholarships available with a minimum GPA of 2.5. 

Mensa Foundation Scholarship  (January 15th, 2024)

Any graduating senior enrolling in an accredited college in the fall of 2024 may apply. 

Illinois Society of Professional Engineers Scholarship (January 31st, 2024)

Students enrolling in an Engineering program in fall 2024 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and that meet the minimum SAT scores of 600 Math and 500 Verbal or ACT of 29 Math and 25 English requirements should apply.  

Gold Star Mission Scholarship  (February 1st, 2024)

Students that exhibit service to their community are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship to use towards furthering their education. 

Lincoln Land Community College Foundation Scholarships (Deadline: February 15th, 2024)

By submitting a complete application, you will automatically be matched and considered for scholarships based on your profile and scholarship requirements.

The Illinois School Counselor Association Scholarship  (Deadline: February 16th, 2024)

Students who will be completing high school in 2024 are eligible for this non-renewable $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship can  be used to support the following post-secondary options: 4 year college/university, 2 year college/university, Trade school, or Apprenticeship/Vocational program

Farm Credit Illinois Scholarship (February 29th, 2024)

Students planning to study agriculture in college are eligible to apply for this scholarship. 

Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln Scholarships (Deadline: March 1st, 2024)

The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln administers a variety of college scholarships, mostly for graduating seniors in Sangamon County, but some for older students or students throughout Illinois. Each scholarship was established by generous donors and is unique with its own set of criteria for applicants.

Menard Electric Cooperative Scholarship (Deadline: March 1, 2024 & April 30, 2024)

Applicant must be a high school senior or equivalent; parent/legal guardian must be a Menard Electric Cooperative member with their primary residence or business served by the cooperative OR sons or daughters of Illinois cooperative members, relatives of Illinois cooperative employees or directors, individuals enrolled in Lincoln Land's lineworker school, or individuals who have served or are serving in the armed forces or National Guard. 

Illinois Chemical Education Foundation (Deadline: March 8th, 2024)

The Chemical Industry Council of Illinois presents a number of $2000 scholarships each year to top high school senior science students.

Illinois Elks Scholarships (Deadline: Various Deadlines in March 2024)

Any student with a desire to study physical or occupational therapy should apply for the Illinois Elks Scholarship.  There is also one for anyone studying special education.  

Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship  (Deadline: March 10, 2024)

Students enrolling in the University of Illinois planning to pursue an education in a business related field should apply. 

Orthopedic Center of Illinois Foundation Scholarship (Deadline: March 15th, 2024)

Any student that is a 2024 graduate as well as a resident of Sangamon county and is planning on studying healthcare in the fall of 2024 should apply.

Springfield Roadrunners Club Scholarship (Deadline: March 15th, 2024)

Graduating high school seniors who have participated in track, cross country, or road races should apply. 

Prairieland FS Scholarship (Deadline: March 22th, 2024)

(Scroll to bottom of page) We are proud to announce that we will be offering 5-$1,000 scholarships to local full-time area students with an interest in pursuing a career in agriculture or agribusiness. Scholarships will be awarded upon successful completion of the fall semester. The primary goal of this program is to encourage area students to prepare for a career in agriculture or agribusiness. 

Sangamon County Farm Bureau (Deadline: March 31st, 2024)

Various scholarships for Sangamon County residents graduating in 2024. 

GFWC Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs (April 1st, 2024)

Scholarships available for both boys & girls in art, drama, music, education, and vocational studies. 

Illinois Masonic Scottish Rite Scholarships (April 1st, 2024)

Various scholarships available. Some are for students with masonic ties, some do not require masonic ties. 

Illinois High School Activities Foundation Scholarship  (Deadline: April 10, 2023)

Anyone planning to major in education or planning to get involved in the coaching profession should apply. 

Golden Apple Scholars  (Deadline: April 1st, 2024)

Any student planning to become a teacher and attending a teacher preparation program in the fall of 2024 should apply.

Sharon Miller Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: April 12, 2024)

The Illinois Education Association-Retired (IEA-R) Abe Lincoln Chapter is offering the Sharon Miller Memorial Scholarship for students who plan to pursue a career in public school teaching. Students chosen for the scholarship(s) will receive $1000. Previous recipients are eligible to apply. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or college student who graduated from an Illinois Education Association (IEA) Region 11 or 47 school. Public school students whose parent or legal guardian has been employed by IEA Region 11 or 47 school districts at least one year may also apply.

Sangamon County Republican Women Scholarship  (Deadline: April 15th, 2024)

Any Sangamon County Republican female planning to further her education in 2024-2025 should apply. More information can be found here.

Devon Mikuleza Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: April 30, 2024)

Open to any graduating senior joining a trade. 

Lincolnland Illini Club Scholarship (Deadline: June 15, 2024)

Sangamon county students entering the University of Illinois in the fall of 2024 should apply. 

Catherine Scully Endowed Scholarship Fund (Applications Accepted on a Rolling Basis)

Students living in the capital city of Springfield, Illinois are encouraged to apply for this merit-based scholarship. Eligible students applying to an AFS program may qualify for a Catherine Scully merit-based scholarship award up to $5,000*. Must be applying for a year, semester or summer AFS program.

National scholarships available for students throughout the year. 

The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships (Deadline: January 10th, 2024)

Through its Mentoring and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 over four years to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.

Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation (February 7th, 2023)

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation - the federal memorial to our thirty-third President - awards merit-based scholarships to college students who plan to pursue careers in government or elsewhere in public service. Truman Scholars receive up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school, participate in leadership development activities, and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government.

Farm Credit Illinois Scholarships (Deadline: February 28th, 2023)

Farm Credit Illinois will award thirty $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors with agricultural aspirations, planning to enroll in an ag-based college curriculum next fall. Recipients must reside (or their family farm must farm) in one of the 60 central and southern Illinois counties served by Farm Credit Illinois.

Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship Program (Deadline: March 1st, 2023)

Scholarships are awarded based upon need, scholastic standing and ability. Eligible applicants must be a resident of Illinois planning to attend to a postsecondary school or accredited vocational or technical school, and who have maintained at least a "C" grade average.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarships Program (May 11th, 2023)

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s scholarship programs are designed to encourage and support outstanding students who work hard and have financial need. Our scholarships provide financial assistance and academic support to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. In addition to the monetary award, students join a thriving network of nearly 2,500 Cooke Scholars.

lIlinois Sheriffs Association College Scholarship Program (Deadline: March 15th, 2023)

In 1979, the ISA established a scholarship program for college-bound students. Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic, extra-curricular and character qualifications. The scholarship program is open to Illinois students attending an Illinois higher learning institution. College scholarship applications are available beginning in January each year and winners are announced in May.

Illinois Agri-Women Scholarships (Deadline: March 31st, 2023)

Are you a high school senior or a college student planning to study post-secondary agriculture in Illinois, or a graduate student in agriculture? Four scholarships for females studying agriculture are offered by the Illinois Agri-Women.

Illinois Society of Professional Engineers Capital Chapter Scholarships (Deadline: April 15, 2022)

ISPE Capital Chapter awards up to a minimum of $3,000 total scholarships to eligible high school seniors every year.

Illinois Grand Lodge and Scottish Rite Masons Scholarship (Deadline: April 1st, 2023)

The Illinois Scottish Rite provides over $500,000 in scholarships each year to students across the state.The Valley of Springfield awarded more than $54,000.00 in scholarship's from the Scottish Rite along with an additional $12,000.00 on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Illinois. These scholarships help support 47 students, 10 of which are new recipients and the others are renewals.

Illinois Cryptic Masons Nurses Foundation Scholarship (Deadline: April 1, 2022)

The Nurses Foundation Scholarship is awarded to full-time students pursuing a career in the field of nursing, with plans to complete a program from an accredited school of Nursing in the State of Illinois. This program should culminate in a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or certification as a Registered Nurse.

American Legion Legacy Scholarship (Deadline: April 1, 2022)

The American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship provides college scholarship money to children of post-9/11 veterans who died on active duty, or have a combined VA disability rating of 50 percent or greater.

Illinois Division of the Knight Templar Education Foundation Scholarship (Have not received 2022 information)

This scholarship is given to a junior and senior student that is a resident of Illinois, who has maintained a 2.5 GPA on a 4-point scale.

American Business Clubs Scholarships Program (Deadline: May 1, 2022

Since 1955, National AMBUCS, Inc. has awarded scholarships to students pursuing degrees in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology and hearing audiology. Students must be US citizens accepted in a graduate-level program that is accredited by the appropriate therapy profession authority in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, or hearing audiology. Assistant or undergraduate programs are not eligible. Awards are based on financial need, commitment to local community, character for compassion and integrity, and career objectives.

Association of Illinois Township Committees on Youth (Deadline: May 20, 2022)

AITCOY offers a $500.00 undergraduate scholarship for a high school senior who plans on attending a four year college and majoring in social work, counseling, psychology, youth recreation, youth prevention, or sociology. This year we will be awarding two undergraduate education scholarships. The applicant must demonstrate an interest in serving his or her community.

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants Scholarships (Deadline: June 12, 2022)

The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution.

Beta Sigma Psi National Lutheran Fraternity Educational Foundation (Multiple Scholarships & Deadlines)

The Beta Sigma Psi Educational Foundation offers Scholarship and Grant opportunities for Beta Sigs and for other members of the Lutheran community. These Scholarships are a way of giving back to the Lutheran church and supporting her youth. Young men who wish to apply are under no obligation to join Beta Sigma Psi or be related to a member for consideration. Applicants may apply for multiple awards if they are still deciding which school they plan to attend.

Distinguished Young Women of Illinois Scholarship Program (Multiple Scholarships & Deadlines)

Distinguished Young Women is the oldest and largest scholarship program for high school girls. Last year, we made more than $1 billion in cash tuition and college-granted scholarships available nationally. Scholarships are available in two ways: cash tuition scholarships (which can be used at any accredited institution of higher learning) and college-granted scholarships (over 100 colleges and universities offer scholarships to program participants – several scholarships are available just for taking part in a local or state program.)

Haratio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans Scholarships (Multiple Scholarships & Deadlines)

As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.

National Security Agency Careers and Scholarships Program (Multiple Scholarships & Deadlines)

The US Intelligence Center offers students a wide variety of excellent programs to get a jumpstart on a career in intelligence.
