Online Learning

Many links below are an extension of some of the lessons and activities the students have been working on in the Library.

Students love our 3-D printer! Many have inquired how they can create their own design and print on our MakerBot in the Library. Create a free account with Tinkercad and start tinkering. When we get back to school we can print it out and show all of your friends! (Tinkercad is a free, easy-to-use app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. It's used by teachers, kids, hobbyists, and designers to imagine, design, and make anything!)

K- 5th grade students were introduced to Ozobots and became familiar with the color- based coding, a visual way to understand coding and programming.

“Day-by-day projects to keep kids reading, thinking, and growing”.

This is fabulous! Differentiated for grade level bands. Features 4 separate learning experiences daily with fiction and nonfiction reading quests. (Part of BookFlix.)

Code.org is launching Code Break — potentially the world's largest live interactive classroom with weekly challenges to engage students of all abilities, even those without computers. Parents can sign up to receive each week's code break, a weekly activity or challenge!

Kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids. All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.

30 day Lego STEAM Challenge

Have some fun with this! Pick one that you like and start building. Take a picture of it and bring it to the Library. I will hang it on the bulletin board for all to see!

Students love Weird But True! books in the Library. Get ready for the craziest, kookiest journey of never-ending, strange facts you’ll definitely want to know. Fun facts about animals, places, abilities, exploration, science, etc... Also, includes video clips!

Fun and challenging! These challenges use materials that can easily be sourced around the home and are perfect to keep children engaged.

Just like Digital Mad-Libs! Practice your grammar skills by creating silly stories online.

Watch astronauts on the International Space Station read books aloud. There are also some science demonstrations, too!
