Ms. Chiang Chinese immersion classroom teacher.
Language teaching and learning has always been my passion. Learning a new language not only provides me the opportunity to communicate with people from different cultures but also help me to understand the world from a different perspective. I have been inspired by so many teachers and friends through my journey of language learning. Now I am hoping to bring the same excitement and inspiration to my students. I have a Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics from Teachers College of Columbia University and my interests include second language acquisition, foreign language pedagogy and instructional technology. I have been teaching Chinese language and culture to learners of all ages and levels since 2007. In my 1st grade classroom, my goal is to create meaningful and fun learning experiences that motivate students to improve every day. I use and design hands-on and mind–on activities to engage students in exploring math and science concepts. I am happy to be part of the growing Chinese Partial Immersion Program at Paint Branch ES and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the children’s early exploration of language and culture.
