Brief Introduction:

Paint Branch Chinese Immersion Elementary School is the first and only elementary school in Prince George's County that offers Chinese immersion and Chinese STEM programs. PBES established the Chinese STEM program in 2012. In 2014, PBES started its Chinese partial immersion program starting from Kindergarten. This program since adds on every year by one grade level and eventually covers all K-5 classes. By the year of 2019, all math and science in all grade levels in general classrooms are taught in Chinese. By providing a series of rigorous Chinese academic programs in a fun and supportive environment, PBES not only helps students reach their academic goals, the Chinese programs also allow students to develop a bilingual, biliterate and bicultural background, which empowers them to participate in a diverse society.
