"Screening measures are designed to identify at-risk students efficiently and effectively before they fail or before they establish a pattern of failure...Screening is an exercise in narrowing probabilities so that better instructional decisions can be made and explicit teaching can be intensified for those who need it most."

AimswebPlus is a type of test known as a universal screener. The test has multiple parts called “measures”. It enables students to demonstrate what they already know and identify what they need to learn. Teachers use this information to guide their instruction and meet the individual needs of their students.
iReady is a type of test known as a universal screener. The test is adaptive and chooses which questions to ask to based on the student's responses and demonstration of knowledge. Teachers use this information to guide their instruction and meet the individual needs of their students.
Diagnostic assessments are administered selectively to students at risk, take more time than a screening measure, reveal detailed information about a student's mastery of a specific area of academic skill, and are used to inform instruction and related aspects of treatment.
