Meet the Staff

Erika Latchaw - Guidance Secretary    I am originally from a small town in the thumb of Michigan. I moved to Marshall in middle school and graduated from Marshall High School. I went to Kellogg Community College and then graduated from Olivet College with a degree in Elementary Education. My parents are both retired educators. I have two younger brothers that both have families. I have 2 nieces and 4 nephews that I enjoy spending time with. My Husband and I Iive in Battle Creek with our cat, Cash.  We enjoy spending time with our families, traveling, attending sporting events, movies, concerts and plays.  One of my biggest loves is sports, mainly the sports of gymnastics and swimming.  I coached swimming for many years at the club (Marshall Community Swim Club) and High School (men's assistant coach with the Battle Creek Central co-op including Pennfield & St. Phil) levels.   I am a fan of NASCAR, MSU, and all teams Detroit (Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, and Pistons).  My number is 269-961-9771 and my email is latchawe@pennfield.net.

    I am honored and excited to be a counselor here at Pennfield High School.  I come here from Allegan, where I was a counselor at the middle school for 14 years.  Before that I was a Social Studies Teacher at Newberry High School in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for 3 years. 

    I live in Galesburg with my loving wife, Karen, and we have two wonderful kids, Caleb and Brielle. When I am not busy at home with the kids, I love to play basketball, do woodworking projects, and Theatre.
